I recall walking around in a foot of water in my parents’ flooded basement trying to salvage soaked toys and games! Practically everything sitting at floor level was destroyed. Scary for a ten-year-old kid!

Thank you so very much for sharing your vid and pics. For literally years I've been trying to find pics of the ole Crown Hall. I graduated May '73 (Associates in Travel Tourism Management). I lived in Crown for my 2 years at JWU; was a "proctor" during my 2nd year. Unfortunately I never took pics back then altho today my hobby is amateur photography. The mention of a fire in your vid reminds me of how during my 2nd year we had a "fire bug" who would often set off the fire alarm in the middle of the night. Being a proctor let me have a private room. Anyway, I loved my tiny room on the 4th floor that overlooked Pine Street below. I also remember those super long hallways. Fun memories. Thank you!

Funny, now WJRZ has been playing those same songs as an oldies station. Only the rebuilt Casino Pier left after the '13 fire. Got a pool now. Clubs on the blvd. gone. Too bad. Good times!

This brings back so many great memories, it's true nostalgic bliss thank you. My parents with other family members (aunts,uncles,counsins,etc) always did a yearly (mid July for a week+) family vacation coming from the Hudson Valley (Cold Spring NY) down to Seaside. From the early 80's until the mid 2000's and we always stayed at the Coral Sands motel. Some of the best memories of my life!

$4 parking is now $30+ lol!

Thanks for the video of the Campbell Inn. I grew up in the area, and my last name is Campbell, but no relation to the Campbell Inn. I remember as a kid, you used to be able to see the hotel before the trees grew big enough to hide it. My dad never drove up to the hotel, so I never saw it close up. Here in 2023 I wonder if the building still stands. I see someone had mowed the lawn in the video. Many of the big hotels in the Catskills were destroyed by fire. Don't know if it was vandals or someone who just started fires on purpose. I know of no hotels left now. I used to ride the Short Line bus to NYC and back to Roscoe about once a month going to college in NYC.

Wow this video brought back amazing memories of my younger life growing up. My dad took me here when I was little, first we stopped at Great Adventure and I took 1 look at scream machine and was like NOPE so he kept driving and we wound up at water works and casino pier. I'll never forget that log flume also, it was the best one of my childhood and the corkscrew waterslide. It's so amazing that there's footage like this to bring back some great memories, THANKS

I was a kid hanging here during this era. I'd give anything for them to have a "retro week" there.. play hair metal and dance pop, and do the airbrush tops with the fringe😎🤘

Loved the video, the photos, and the viewers' comments. My grandmother went here for a couple of summers in the 1950s, when I was too young to understand why anyone would want to live in the country with all the heat and humidity. She seemed to enjoy it, anyway. I do recall my father claiming Rocky Marciano's mother stayed there (he was heavyweight champ then), but that could have been a some kind of private joke he had with his mother.
